OLD NORTH CHURCH .
Boston, Massachusetts . 6"

tall
The church building was inspired by the works of Sir Christopher Wren, the British architect who was responsible for rebuilding London after the Great Fire. The steeple is 191 feet tall, making it the tallest steeple in Boston. The bells within the steeple were the first bells ever brought to America. Paul Revere was one of the neighborhood bell ringers. In 2016, the old church will begin an 8 Million Dollar renovation that will bring the building up to code. Along the way the interior will get a radical cosmetic makeover in time for the church's tricentennial in 2023, and two years later, the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's famous ride. The old North Church is stop #14 on Boston's famous "Freedom Trail". This 2.5 mile trail winds through downtown Boston to 16 nationally significant historic sites - each one an authentic treasure. Every year, a half million visitors make the trip to Boston to experience this unique and stirring monument to liberty.
